Though ostensibly a simple medical procedure, 15 years of intensive experience have taught me that sclerotherapy is in effect an art form, harboring scores of guarded professional and personal secrets, just like jewelry craftsmanship. My pamphlet, sclerotherapy, is intended for physicians only. It provides a detailed review of my intensive experience in the field, a comprehensive description of the technique and protocol, the material and instruments required, and the various approaches available for different settings and conditions. In addition, there are new ideas, suggestions, and caveats, and possible solutions for problems that may arise in the course of treatment. The pamphlet will arm physicians with the know-how and skills to master the art of sclerotherapy and perform it expertly already at the outset. It will help them to avoid the many errors I committed before I recognized the extent to which sclerotherapy is a fine craft. |
